Physicist & Engineer
Welcome to my
self-hosted portfolio.
I'm a physicist and engineer based in Waltham, MA — currently at Watts Water Technologies, where I design automated test systems, run experimental studies on valve and sensor performance, and build IoT platform foundations.
Where I've worked
Experience
- Developed a high-fidelity MATLAB simulation to model valve micro-sealing, incorporating contact mechanics, dynamic mesh distortion, and fluid mechanics to detect potential leakage pathways.
- Designed and built an automated seal integrity test robot, using self-taught skills in robotics, electronics, and software development to eliminate 160 labor hours per week while establishing a reusable design guide for future automation projects.
- Developed foundational elements of the Nexa IoT water management platform — leading sensor evaluation and early-stage system validation for next-generation connected products.
- Utilized GD&T and statistical analysis to optimize next-generation valve internals while increasing manufacturing efficiency and reducing loss.
- Led team operations including nightly logistics, inventory management, merchandising, and section leadership responsibilities.
- Achieved rank of Petty Officer Third Class; completed multiple advanced training programs in seamanship, navigation, and leadership over a 5-year commitment beginning at age 13.

Projects
A few highlights — some with full write-ups, some under NDA. See the full projects page →
Leak-rate physics simulation
Independently recreated and extended Persson and Yang's seal contact theory from primary academic literature — self-teaching the underlying physics and implementing a full simulation in MATLAB and Python. Inspired by applied R&D work, but built entirely outside of work on my own time. Includes interactive surface generation, percolation path analysis, and dynamic data visualization.
Automated seal integrity test robot
Automated electro-mechanical test system designed and built from scratch to validate seal integrity. Eliminated 160 labor hours per week. Involved mechanical design, custom electronics, and Python control software. Findings documented to inform a reusable design guide. Full technical details under NDA.
Self-hosted home server
Built and deployed a full-featured self-hosted server running VPN, cloud backup, network-wide ad blocking, game servers, and home automation workflows. Also hosts this portfolio — designed, built, and deployed from scratch.
NexaPlatform
Ground-floor engineer on NexaPlatform — deployed initial sensor infrastructure, led early validation, and established proof-of-concept for a wireless plumbing monitoring system that grew into a full IoT platform.
