Nexa is a wireless plumbing monitoring and water management platform developed at Watts Water Technologies. I was a ground-floor engineer on the project during its early R&D phase, before the product had a defined architecture or commercial roadmap.
My Role
Brought on to establish the technical foundation of the platform during its earliest stage. The work involved figuring out what the system needed to be before it could be built.
Contributions
- Evaluated and selected sensors for the platform's initial hardware stack.
- Deployed early sensor infrastructure and ran the first system validation tests.
- Established proof-of-concept for wireless monitoring that defined the platform's direction.
- Contributed to early-stage documentation and technical decision-making.
Outcome
The proof-of-concept work I led helped define the architecture and feasibility of what became a full commercial IoT product. Nexa has since grown into a flagship connected product line at Watts Water, and has expanded further through strategic acquisition.
